(You write such pretty words, but life's no storybook)
Music video for today: Lover I don't have to love
I want a lover I don't have to love
I want a boy who's so drunk he doesn't talk
Where's the kid with the chemicals?
I've got a hunger and I can't seem to get full
I need a meaning I can memorize
The kind I have always seems to slip my mind
But you, but you...
I used to really dislike brokeback mountain, I'm no homophobe, but it just seemed brutal and raw, without subtlety or meaning but I guess recently there's an attraction in that kind of love, in watching it being urgent, painful, bright-eyed desperation, an anti-romantic notion of love.
To cry and to grasp and to drown in a stylised persona of what you think your anti-establishment love should be like, would be the epitome of narcissim. You as a walking dramatic image of yourself, one long, beautiful lie.
