Unbelievable!
| You Are a Caramel Crunch Donut |
You're a complex creature, and you're guilty of complicating things for fun. You've been known to sit around pondering the meaning of life...Or at times, pondering the meaning of your doughnut. To frost or not to frost? To fill or not to fill? These are your eternal questions. |
Its kinda creepy how this -short- quiz makes sense...belle epoque at 11:28 AM

news news news
Today was pretty fun, I met someone I hardly talked to in school but ended up hanging out for the whole day haha..found some great shopping spots and revisited a Gotham-ish building, must go there to drink one day its at Bugis. Parkview, has statues of Chopin, Dante and Dali ( youd expect to find statues by him but heres a statue of him, he looks pretty normal, considering.) and the ambience inside is just amazing, the panelling the architecture everything. Life is looking up, a little. I put things into perspective today, what I will not compromise on and what I think I want my future to be like. Its all a bit tiring, the world is getting tiring because no one believes in anything anymore.
I realised today I respect very few people in the world and I'm trying hard to be one of them.belle epoque at 5:00 AM

Interesting..
"If Jody doesn't pay her ticket, she will go to jail." Which other statement must be true?
If Jody pays her ticket, she won't go to jail.
If Jody goes to jail, she didn't pay her ticket.
If Jody doesn't go to jail, she paid her ticket.
Very adorable question I found online on some quiz...here's the technical explanation of it
The three most common ways to change a conditional statement are by taking its inverse , its converse, or it contrapositive. In each case, either the hypothesis and the conclusion switch places, or a statement is replaced by its negation.
The inverse of a conditional statement is arrived at by replacing the hypothesis and the conclusion with their negations. If a statement reads, "The vertex of an inscribed angle is on a circle", then the inverse of this statement is "The vertex of an angle that is not an inscribed angle is not on a circle." Both the hypothesis and the conclusion were negated. If the original statement reads "if j, then k", the inverse reads, "if not j, then not k."
and etc etc but that wasn't the first thing to go running (or limping) through my mind..It was more straightforward:
Statement 1: If she pays her ticket she wont go to jail.
not true an assumption because she might have done something else
Statement 2:If she goes to jail, she didn't pay her ticket.
Also not true, same explanation as above except she got caught for whatever it is she did do (like run over the guy who issued the ticket)
Statement 3 is true!! because it eliminates any other illegal activities she might Not ( haha roundabout thinking) have done plus this scenario as well. guess it seems pretty simple but you have to be able to consider alternative scenarios and not get too involved in the qn..belle epoque at 1:20 AM

Something I just realised about me... its not a matter of me having to know you to like you, but having to know you to not hate you. luckily I get to know people easily. Well the world awaitsbelle epoque at 11:57 PM
Backdated entry for Saturday
Saturday was exhausting but I had fun, more fun than I thought I would. For once, I felt like i Belonged in that group. They had the same ideas and visions as me, backed up by the same type of history and experiences. Its almost like there exists a type of social jargon and I felt so at home. It didn't turn out to be the shouting match I was afraid it would, and what was more amazing is that even after the Control situation was over, we took more than the required interest in it. Anything more specific would render me liable to some kind of _______- well something bad anyway so I won't say much more :D
I really enjoyed talking to them; they were all so smart, it was really a joy.
I sense in Singaporean scholars this real hunger to succeed and its almost a vicious, biting hunger (albeit without being vindictive) and that makes them so beautiful and so strong. You can feel this razor sharp aura surrounding everyone. It is a rarely seen drive towards perfection and I will never give up that heritage.
On a brighter note, the concert was amazing i must definitely SMILE more :)belle epoque at 9:08 AM
hahah funny

The results of your analysis say:
You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry. You are a social person who likes to talk and meet others. You are affectionate, passionate, expressive, and future-oriented. You are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody! You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.
Hmm they all seem vaguely (and vague is the functional word here) true except the depend on the opinions of others....I'm a SLAVE to the opinions of others. hahahha :D ah well it was fun and yes that is more or less then style of my handwriting except screwy coz done w a mouse
What does your handwriting say about YOU?

Autumn! A tribute to autumn and of course, the little pooh bears that run amok in its blaze haha..Autumn is understated, dear pooh. yet it combines the ferocity of summer, at least in colour, with the timeless languor of winter and to a certain extent, the playfulness of spring. It can't possibly be easy to try to paint every detail-kissed vein on each weeping leaf, or to show us the carefully crafted brutality of the hunt but I would say you succeeded, plus with Panache, ( an especially useful double meaning here). Kudos to you Pooh! (and some honey too)don't make the shadows breathe your silhouetteI doubt I'll ever finish that sonnet:(

I don't trust diaries..so this is just a random thought thing haha and i doubt anyone can find it unless i give them the number:D haha... anyway.. I was just thinking..how life feels like this continuous drowning deja vu..day in and day out, gaining momentum down a hill, heel to toe and hell to toe. If that makes any sense..and somehow I think I lose control; it just all goes past me without me noticing and I can't grasp my time. It's a bit like that ruler game when someone drops a ruler past your fingers and if you have a pathetic reaction time ( like me) ( though not as bad as the PA guy lala..) it just goes past registered by your brain but not by your hands and of course, you're left with your nails digging into your palm..and an embarrassing sense of loss. hmm..Makes me wonder why people commit suicide...maybe they do it to gain some sense of control over their lives, strange as that is.To know that they can stop it and stop the vicious cycle and I'm sure we all have our choice cycle. A good technical term I suppose, would be to call suicide, a ..voluntary withdrawal from the system. A polite yet ironical bow, a tip of the hat, ( or a curtsey would suffice), It was fun while it lasted, ladies and gentlemen. And then a step back, off the edge of the highest cliff you can find. I'm sure someone's used it before I just can't remember where. But I doubt I'd be topping myself anytime soon

Lorin Maazel
On a rather backdated note, I really enjoyed the Lorin Maazel a week ago. It was rather by accident that I watched it because my mum booked the tickets without either of us realising he was as famous as he is. But it was amazing, the orchestra had lovely tone in the slower parts and were more coordinated than I've heard them normally...I think a good conductor should be one that doesn't try to confuse the players onstage (and man I've seen some really strange albeit fluid styles of conducting which leave me with no impression of the beat whatsoever) He should be trying to capture the mood of the moment and pushing/exciting the musicians as much as possible (which explains his vigorous pointing and gesturing). I guess as a player I've always found the conductor who can draw me into the mood of the music the most useful. For the beat, I've always tended to look at the soloist's feet- you'd be surprised how well those things keep a steady count. haha and I realise there is such a thing as a Singaporean tone. Like some of us, it doesn't take itself too seriously, its sweet yet young without the jaded stain of marginalisation. (which admittedly can also be a very enjoyable thing yum yum Russian Nationalism) But at the same time, its searching for something, perfection? Maturity? I think I have to pay more attention to what I'm supposed to be searching for.belle epoque at 12:09 AM

V for Vendetta
Yesterday's Offenbach was lovely. Watched V for Vendetta today thanks to Yange haha.. and the ice cream was good too. I think my favourites would be any sorbet/sherbet? and any thick sweet flavour haha.. The movie was pretty decent. the coordination at the end was Pepsi-ad worthy, what with everyone unmasking themselves in almost-slow wonder. I think the love story totally ruined it...makes me think about what happens when someone you look up to disappoints you with a failing..love is a believable failing but for smaller faults it feels really surreal. You've always expected that person's word to be The Authority on whichever matter you pick but I guess now I'm old enough to make decisions on my own.belle epoque at 11:56 PM
