    Weird Dream

After watching the Da Vinci Code last night, I had the strangest dream. It was about how we found his diary and (not Da Vinci's diary, someone else's) read some pretty interesting things. For example, letters written to people to say (rudely and in very large capital letters) what he wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't tell them to their face. I guess this was spawned from my constant desire to believe that things are more complicated than they seem and its more than just That. Which conveniently refers to any small random amount that is perpetually changing and that no one can quantify. Sigh. Hmmm. The first thing we found inside was apparently his motivation for friendship:

    X: Nice/Pleasant
Y: Big house, Nice car, Rich
Z: Big house, Nice car, Rich, Nice people, Nice place
-with some of the names being enthusiastically circled several times with a 2B pencil-

(Note: Real names have been concealed to protect their identities, because in real life they are in fact rich/have cars/are pleasant etc)

It was some screwed up Fibonacci of Eligibility (no thanks to the movie perhaps) and had attached the relevant qualities of interest to various girls who were his friends for whatever reason (which admittedly is pretty clear at this point, or rather That point, if I can somehow pinpoint That point somewhere in my dream). I wonder if this was the case in real life. Hmmm. One of the biggest misconceptions is that Big House, Nice car necessarily=Rich. Why does everyone assume that ownership of landed property equates to masses of wealth, massive enough to fund your own education?

It doesn't! No one questions how I got the house; what if I didn't purchase it out of my massive personal disposable income? What if I was paying for the house in instalments and was mired in crippling debt rather than wallowing in rank materialism (kudos to Anne Rice)? Or if I had slowly and deviously murdered my grandparents by insiduous and daily doses of arsenic = now I have their big house to live in?

    :( Assumptions, assumptions.

We could have shown them all,
We should have seen love through
